New Music: Weekly Releases for September 20, 2024
NEW MUSIC ALERT
Hello, music lovers! Welcome back to the latest new releases from #NEWMUSIC alert.
While I promised to get back to reporting on the latest drops more consistently, I have to be honest—this past summer has been what I would call my "Tower Moment." However, I’m adjusting to the changes life is throwing my way. After all, sometimes things must crumble in order to rebuild a newer, stronger foundation.
After taking a hiatus, I had to make a comeback to report on one of my favorite names in rap—Future.
The prolific rapper is kicking off the last quarter of the year with his first solo project, Mixtape Pluto. This 17-track album is packed with his signature trap beats. Standout tracks like “LIL DEMON,” “PLUTOSKI,” “TOO FASTt,” and “SKI” have already become fan favorites. Mixtape Pluto marks Future’s third project of 2024, but notably his first solo venture, making this one a must-listen for any fan.
As we transition into fall, GloRilla is setting the tone with her latest release, “Hollon.” Coming in hot after her summer smash “TGIF,” this track is the perfect follow-up as we approach spooky season. “Hollon” will no doubt be on repeat at every Halloween party. Fans are also eagerly awaiting her upcoming album GLORIOUS, set to drop on October 11th. If these singles are any indication, GloRilla is bringing the heat as she closes out the year strong.
On the Latin music front, Bad Bunny is back with a fresh track titled “Una Velita.” Known for consistently dropping hits, this new single adds to his already stellar catalog.
In country music, Gwen Stefani is blessing us with her fifth studio album, Bouquet, coming November 15th. Ahead of the debut, she’s given us a taste with the single “Somebody Else’s,” hinting that her upcoming album will include an eclectic collection of works that showcase her timeless creativity.
Another exciting project in the country world comes from Mitchell Tenpenny, who just dropped his album The 3rd this past Friday. The 20-track project highlights his songwriting talent, with a standout collaboration featuring Colbie Caillat titled “Guess We’ll Never Know.”
Kelsea Ballerini continues to tease her highly anticipated new album, PATTERNS, with another pre-release track, “Two Tracks.” The full album drops on October 25th.
To close out this week’s write-up, Scarlett Opera is putting their own spin on the classic hit “Heaven is a Place on Earth.” Their cover adds a fresh, modern twist to the '80s anthem, showcasing the band’s ability to blend nostalgia with their unique rock sound.
With so many exciting releases across genres, the rest of 2024 is shaping up to be an unforgettable year in music!
